The Outside Track

Celtic Folk aus Schottland, Irland und Novia Scotia
The Outside Track wurde sowohl bei den Live Ireland Awards als auch bei den Tradition In Review Awards als „Beste Gruppe“ ausgezeichnet und ist einer der besten Celtic-Acts der Welt.

Die Bandmitglieder entstammen gleich drei keltischen Kulturen: Irland, Schottland und Cape Breton in der kanadischen Provinz Novia Scotia, wo von Nachfahren schottischer Einwanderer vereinzelt noch kanadisches Gälisch gesprochen wird. Entsprechend lässt sich der Klang der Band als transatlantisch bzw. pan-keltisch bezeichnen, ihre Musik verbindet die unterschiedlichen Strömungen der keltischen Kulturen auf beiden Seiten des Nordatlantiks. 

 

Alle fünf sind begnadet virtuos und mit Fiddle (Mairi Rankin), Akkordeon (Fiona Black), Flöten (Teresa Horgan) und Gitarre (Michael Ferrie) reichhaltig instrumentiert – ein aussergewöhnliches Highlight ist die Clarsach, die gälische Harfe, die von Ailie Robertson gespielt wird. Wunderschöne Balladen, mehrstimmiger Gesang und Stepptanzeinlagen zeigen die grosse Klasse dieser Formation.
